Day01: Arrive to Bangkok (L/D)
Meeting English speaking Guide at airport and transfer to
The Grand Palace is a truly amazing architectural construction. It is a large complex covering an area of 218,000 square meters which was built in the early years of Chakkri dynasty. The complex consists of four large groups of building serving different royal functions. The first one is the Wat Pra Keaw a royal religious temple. The second is the royal ceremonial complex containing the Chakri Maha Prasat Hall. The third is the royal residence and guest residence, the Borom Phiman Mansion. This is a private zone not a tourist area. The forth is the staff and governmental offices. There are plenty of tour guides to give visitors historical aspects of this beautiful palace. It is certainly a must see for all visitors. Have lunch at Riverside Restaurant.
Proceed to the Vihara of the Reclining Buddha or Phra Buddhasaiyas (Viharn Phranorn); the building is constructed for containing the important Buddha image, the Reclining Buddha. King Rama III told his nobleman, Krom Muen Pumintarapakdi (Prince Laddawan), the head of department of the Ten Crafts as a construction team leader. After having noulded the image of the Reclining Buddha, the team continued with the hall. The image was made of stuccoes bricks gilded with gold leaves. This statue is 46 meters long, with the dimensions at the face of 15 meters high and at each foot of 3 meters high and 5 meters long. The mother of pearl inlay at the feet of the image is of Thai-Chinese style, as indicated by 108 auspicious signs portraying natural scenes of both Indian and Chinese influences.
On the inner wall of this vihara, you will see mural paintings of three topics: “Mahawong” (Historical annals of Ceylon) up the windows; “13 Savida Atadagga Disciples (Priestess)”, “10 Upasaka Atadagga Disciples” and “10 Upasika Atadagga Disciples” between each window. With lunch at local restaurant
Day02: Dream World (B/L/D)
Meeting English Speaking Guide hotel’ lobby and transfer to Dream world is the absolute stuff of kids! You won’t get out of here until they are exhausted… and you know how long that takes! This is a big American-style theme park with all the trimmings. Corkscrew, Bumping Cars, Swinging Viking Boat, Rollercoaster – they are all there, and more besides. My personal favorite is the Giant's House where everything is 50 times as big as it should be – very convincing and it would be an absolutely great place to have a party. The Super Splash and White Water Rapids are water rides and please note: You will get wet! Dream World also has a full fledged go-kart track and ‘Snow Land’ – a display of artificial snow (although this attraction is not included in the main ticket fee). Dream World also features a live ‘Hollywood Action Show’ which up until recently had a dubious display of Nazi Storm Troopers successfully invading an Allied camp. Many people are glad that the current focus has changed to a SWAT team invading a criminal’s den. This is well worth the trip. If you have kids (and the time) definitely take them. And with lunch at Dream world
